EARL aftermath.....

We battened down all the hatches, bought batteries, got gas for the generator, brought in all the cushions from the deck furniture and ate all the sweets in the freezer just in case....

All night long..........it just rained.  I don't think a gust of wind appeared unless a car drove by.

But the Princess and the Pea made her appearance on the deck cushions.

Can't be too careful....

Good bye Hurricane Earl.

Dear Dr. M-
Do not believe that I ate any sweets from the frig last night. Most of what I ate came from our garden:corn, zucchini, cukes, tomatoes and swiss chard. When it comes to my post-op diet, I think I have done quite well. Yes, I have 'cheated' but for crying out loud, I live in Maine and dooooo so much enjoy an occasional fried clam dinner. Point of information(when it comes to DEDS blog) she enjoys the gift of exaggeration from time to time.

Birdman ! What?!?! I'm sure I don't know what you mean, exaggerate...ME?? Nah.
Ok, ok, so maybe it wasn't 'we' that ate the sweets from the freezer. It was a nasty job, but somebody had to do it.
And I'm sure your cardiologist has others things to do besides read my silly little blog, doncha think?
Sheesh

She's sitting right across from me on the summer porch now. She is pounding away a response... something cute and funny no doubt. She has to blog a response? She can't just say I'm kind of an idiot? This blog/facebook world we live in now is VERY strange! ps. I HOPE she doesn't mention the ribs!

I agree - sweets must be eaten up before the storm hits - and if you don't get them all eaten up before - you can finish them off in celebration that Earl didn't linger. (Don't give Earl any of the sweets).

So glad the worst for you was too many sweets. Love the pictures - my Cooper looks just like your Princess. :-)

I realise your act of kindness for the sweets... it would be a crying shame for them to be wasted... what are these ribs Mr Birdman doth peak of? are they perchance of the healthy heart variety? I do like those... apparetnly they are completely calorie free... :D

glad it missed you... and oh to be a cat! lol

The next time you think a hurricane is coming, invite me over, E, and I'll help you eat the sweets so Birdman and the cardiologist can rest easy.

I couldn't believe the lackluster performance from Earl... thankful for it, but still! :)
I'm glad your kitty got in some quality sleep time. She looks so adorable!

Luckily we don't have hurricanes we I am but I should imagine it would be a scary thing to have to be in. Sweets in the freezer? An excellent reason to break one's diet. I like your reference to the Princess and the Pea.
