Truth be told.....

So I'm walking down the hall at school to get a cup of tea.
Behind me are two 11 year old boys, talking and walking.
The shorter one says, " My mom says my sister can't date until she is 39 years old."
The taller one says, "39 years old! You're kidding!"
Short one: "Nope. That's what she told her."
Tall one: "Wow. (pause) Wow. Is that the same for you too?"
Short one: "Nah. I started dating last year....."

Love that your blog always makes me smile and your paintings are great. I like the Snowy Birches and the Row Boats and all of them. :)

This is adorable! Oh my...I just finished reading your post on your Lubec/Machias or bust trip. First of all I love the fact that the two of you are so adventurous...so darned cute. And the way you write...it feels like the reader is right there with you and Mr. D. Believe it or not, my son's girlfriend is from Lubec!! I know...it's crazy. They broke up last year after 6 years of being together (they're back together now) and she went to Lubec for the summer. Guess what she did for work? Yup....raked blueberries! There really ISN'T anything there! But oh my...it looks pretty right there next to the ocean. Great story!

Oh how funny... Isn't it great to overhear things that kids can say????? LOVE it.....

It's usually DAD who says that about his daughter... My son in Texas has two beautiful daughters. The 16 yr. old is the apple of her Daddy's eyes. She is dating ---and Mark is panicky for sure... ha

Hugs,
Betsy

Loved your post. Of course, I am trying to catch up on my blog reading. Must say I love the post about your trip to Lubec. The airline (Rt 9) is too spooky. Nothing on that road....no gas stations, no rest rooms, no nothing. Reminds me of those horror movies where the teens are out in the middle of no where. It's nice to be back, talk to you soon.
Hugs, Kathleen
