He said, “write about the weird things you do and eat...”
“What? (pause) Weird things? (another pause) (blink) I don’t do or eat anything weird....I’m sure I don’t know what you are talking about.”
He started laughing hysterically.
So here goes...(with his help, because I don’t see it this way...)
1. I eat sardine sandwiches. Sometimes. With mayo. And sometimes with onions.
2. I don’t like music. I tolerate the Beatles and Billy Joel just fine, actually most music from the 60’s and 70’s, but after that the music died. I find it very noisy and I don’t like noise.
I will drive in my car in silence many times....
3. My TV preferences: Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, and anything about food.
These days I’m watching old episodes of Alfred Hitchcock Hour on www.hulu.com.
HE has been caught watching episodes of Housewives of Orange County.
4. For breakfast I have 2 slices of whole wheat toast with globs of low fat cottage cheese on it, garnished with walnut pieces and chunks of prunes. With green tea.
(NOTE: I think this is the most unweird breakfast there is, but he doesn’t...)
5. If there’s no dessert in the house, I will pour chocolate syrup into a spoon, squirt whipped cream onto it and savor it. Then I will do it again.
5 1/2: My husband says I’m somewhat ADD. I know I am, but these days it’s not weird anymore.
Example: I was looking for an image of cottage cheese for this post. I got a photo of an enormously fat person bending over with ‘cottage cheese’ thighs. (Look at your own risk) (You may be sorry...), then there was a link on the sidebar to Optical Illusion. I am going to do a unit in my art class on OP art, so natch, I clicked on it and got the above....... (He's the one that insisted I post it....) (I will NOT use this with my class.)
6. I won’t wear hats. My head and hats don’t match. No way, no how.
(for the more daring blog readers, the alert ADD me found this....)
8. I try to clean the house. I clean things that the two other inhabitants in my house don’t even know ever, in a million years, would need cleaning. And then they mess it up. It’s not that they are slobs, not at all, they’re just not neatniks. I’m not either, but I like a certain order.
9. Expanding upon #8, my husband claims that once in a while I will stop what I’m doing, look around and say.....“I hate this! I hate this! I cleaned this house yesterday, and now look at it!”
It’s never dirty, I must admit. But it does have that lived in look sometimes, as my husband says.
Yeah, like 50 people live here!
10. My hair. I have fine, wavy to curly, blonde hair. Hair that humidity loves. I invented bad hair days. One iota of humidity curls up the tenderly straightened strands into ‘every which way but loose’ concoctions. So I take all precautions not to get my hair wet unless I’m shampooing it. Plastic bags, newspapers ...... mostly hoods.
I cannot have a jacket without a hood. No hats. EVAH !! It’s my cross to bear....
That's it. I don't think any of it is weird. Can't be that weird. He still married me almost 35 years ago. Maybe HE'S weird.

E, you make me laugh!!!!!! Thank you, sweetie. I think, except for the sardines and the music, we are entirely on the same page. Let's start a little club of weirdos. No narrow-minded boys allowed (though a narrow-hipped one or two might get in).
That's it - maybe HE'S weird. I have to agree with that because of the great similarities between you and me - though I must admit - the breakfast seems a tad weird to me. I prefer mine of toast, pnut butter, raisins and (so far normal) a little mustard, and for a nice addition - a little lettuce or cucumber. Not that's not weird.
Oh how funny Elenka.... This one made me laugh... I need to put the thighs picture on my frig---or better still on my peanut butter jar (since I am a pb-aholic).... Yipes!!!!
I keep things straight (pretty much) around the house.. BUT--we don't do much cleaning.. George will vacuum and I will dust --but only if it really needs it BADLY.
I love music--most kinds, but don't listen to music when I'm blogging because so many people have music on their blog sites (drives me crazy)... SO--I just keep the volume OFF when I blog.
I do like noise around me. Before G and I were married, I would have either a radio or a TV on in every room... That drove him crazy--so now, we may have a TV on---but only in the room we are in... (See how this man has change ME????? Whuz up with that?)
Have a great day/week... CUTE post today!
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh my! I LOVE illusions! That optical illusion one is SO good! I was looking for the old woman's face and after a few minutes of staring at the boat(?), I FINALLY saw it for a fleeting moment! I'll have to remember that one!
It's gotta be that Birdman's weird, not you!! And, as far as music goes, what about The Moody Blues? Hmmm...
Oh my! I still can't get over that they make underwear that big. I shoulda never clicked on that link. But anyway, about the rest of the post, enjoyed it thoroughly, especially your makeshift dessert. Good call to Birdman for this idea for your post. Turns out, I think you're not really that weird. ~Lili
I can absolutely relate to several of your NOT weird things...I too hate music. ...except for the occasional oldie like you. I love the ice road truckers too! .. I eat egg whites on a piece of toast for brekky.... simple but works for me and no cholesterol..which I am managing with diet... oh...and ...the woman in the boat..hahaha... allll the guys and the woman in the boat behind are staring at her... but, at least she has a great body to display....
oooohhh...yikes !!! I think cottage cheese lady's underwear is a sheet from the 80's....
Ha! the kilt one :)
How fun to read all this cool stuff about you. Loved the pictures, too. I didn't find any of this weird, so it must be your hubby. :-)
Elenka, You are soooo not weird just FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY!!!
Yes, you are all that ...but that's what makes you...YOU!!!
I LOVED THIS POST IT IS SOOOO YOU!!

YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!
Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only one that liked sardine sandwiches LOL That is so funny!
Elenka, I'm glad you're joining in my Postcard Exchange. Could you email me at bourlandcs [at] msn [dot] com so I can get your address and give you mine?
Have a great night :)
I love your list...when I finally get back to posting on my blog...I will have to do one too (as I clean with toothbrushes but my basement still hasn't been put back together since the cat caused flood in Aug 08; I will eat past date food, but use a toothpick to clean around the heat element on my stovetop; and I eat peanut butter topped with whipped cream from a can from a spoon...
You are FUNNY...that I know. I love your sense of humor. I need to remember to ask my husband what's weird about me from his point of view, I've never done that! (Guess I never assumed I was weird in ANY way, but I'm sure that I AM!) I'll let you know what I find out!
XOXO
Joni
Well I asked my husband if I had any weird traits, after enjoying that list of yours so much, and he did this strange kind of low-rumbling dismissive laugh as he walked off. Is that weird or what!
What an amusing list! it sounds like you two have a good marriage, despite bad hair days.
I found out a lot about you in this blog! I agree with one of the other bloggers...the sardine thing is weird but that's it! You are normal in every other way...well what the heck is normal anyway?...a setting on a dryer? You are a bit of a daredevil though and a hysterical one at that!
I loved your list and I love your blog:)
I may never be the same after seeing that cottage cheese photo....
