It's Fall in Maine...

Nature's paint box is now opened...

The view out my front door.

Chilly air is a good reason for lighting the fireplace.

The cat is now in ultra slow motion mode.

A little cuddling is always good. Especially fur against fur. What could be nicer?

Time for home-made rolls and Golden Autumn Chowder. (See January 12, 2009 post...)

Autumn is fleeting. Come a windy, rainy day and all the leaves will be gone.
A brief touch of beauty.

Gorgeous photos! I wish I was curled up next to a fire with a bowl of that chowder on a blustery today! Today we're having the perfect day: blue skies, 60s, a slight breeze and gorgeous foliage... but I know it won't last, and we'll all have to embrace the colder season which is looming. Fall comes and goes far too quickly.

Alright. So I'm totally in love with the cats. Delicious taste of autumn in each of these images. Same basic season but we New Englanders each wear it a bit differently, don't we? Viva la difference.

Such a lovely post...and what striking images of autumn days and a cozy and comforting Maine home. Your opening photo with the white birches with your caption ... Nature's paintbox is now opened... WOW!

The first photo is stunning!

The soup looks yummy! (I'm making veggie beef soup tomorrow), and the kitty looks super-cuddly...

Nature's paintbox indeed! Love that first shot with those white birches and subtle reds.

The only thing missing from this scene was a good book. Such lovely photos. Love the colors and the warmth and the love that comes from them.

Beautiful pics! Here in northern Maine we are way past peak foliage. And after the rain and wind yesterday, most of the trees are bare. But I do love fall so much. Is that a Siamese cat I see??? Your chowda and rolls look delicious. Hugs, Kathleen
