I've been painting and painting and painting...

and painting.....for 1  1/2 weeks.
This is a large mural (55" x 91") I will put up in school outside of my classroom to welcome the kids back to (gulp) school.

Every year I pick a movie that is popular in the summer, and make a poster using it's theme, and then change it up. I've been doing this for more years than I care to think about! (Home Alone was my first one....)

This one's based on the kids movie "G-Force". Apparently it's about some Gerbils that are planning to save the world or something.

Don't know. Didn't see it.

I just hope it's not R rated by some sadistic, wicked twist of fate. I probably should check that.

But it's back to the drawing board tomorrow......sob.....

Hey, teachers like summer vacation, too! ... and it's all over after today. sob. sob. sob.

It's noon and I'm still in my P.J.s watching Paula Deen add a stick of butter to something.

Wish me luck!!

Sob.

What good advice. When in doubt, just add a stick of butter to it...whatever it is. I love the mural! Lucky, lucky kids. You'll make them smile as they return to the structure and demands of school. Hope it's a great year, Elenka, and that you still have time to paint...and add a stick of butter to something from time to time.

Didn't see the movie, but remember a line from the preview when one of the gerbils get's in trouble and asks the others what to do. "Poop in his hands, poop in his hands!" was their reply. Darling mural. It was a short summer break, but it sounds like you really enjoy your work and your students. Have a great 1st day of school tomorrow!

Cute mural - what a nice project you do for those kids. Sorry that summer is over for you and for the kids - I loved the long summers when our kids were still in school and hated to see summer end and school start.

Fantastic mural Elenka! Those last few days before school starts again are so "pyjamaish" if that's a word!...and so necessary to relax before the bustle of small children. What a wonderful mural to greet them! Wishing you a happy first day back.

Love the mural....you are just so gifted. Hope going back to school will be great, for you, and your students. I'll eat anything with a stick of butter in it! Hugs, Kathleen

Beautiful job on the painting and sorry you have to go back to school!! We work at a school and are back next week...I feel your pain! I have been on hiatus as we are under construction here on the plains for over a month! It's getting old already. I will be back soon....you are a wonderful artist...some day I will stay long enough to look at them all!

Gerbils and nude scenes? I don't think so. Though you'd better ask Richard Gere....
:))))
