And someone REALLY thought they could outsmart a squirrel? One time I watched one go up inside a candy machine - the kind you put money in and hope candy comes out - anyway - he went up inside the machine and came out with a candy bar - now if we could figure some way to go into business with that squirrel, then we'd be the smart ones. LOL
Ah the pesky tree rat! but I suppose a squirels gotta eat and as he can never remember where he buried his nuts I suppose the bird feeder will suffice! ;D
My daughter has two birdfeeders suspended from the roof overhang of her second floor apartment. So far the squirrels haven't figured out how to get to them though the little tree rats eye the feeders with calculation and lust.
That's a riot Elenka!! I have been foiled by squirrels for years. They have played us all for fools at one time or another. I have an elderly friend in Florida that loves birds and has quite an elaborate birding station she created. She was climbing and batting her arms wildly to chase away a squirrel when she fell and broke her wrist. She came home to Maine sporting a big cast saying she would NOW leave them alone! They are tricky little critters. Heck...I'm a slow learner....I just found out the crows will get into a trash bag like a dog would!
Ha! Is your furry intruder perhaps related to the acrobat in our yard? It was jumping a yard from a bush until we pruned. I fear that anymore snow might raise the ground to feeding hight.
Hahameow...Hilarious! I like the ones that are motorized and spin them off...Between the squirrels (who love safflower seeds--they are supposed to hate them and mixes with them in it are supposed to deter them) and the raccoons, they were going thru seed faster than the cats were kibble. so now I just put out seed in the morning instead of keeping the feeders full!
Yes, thanks for thinking of me. We did get 12 inches, and it seems there is no end in sight. Real different from last year. Now this is the real Maine. (sigh, what ever happened to global warming?)
Bwahahahahahahaaha... sneaky little devils, aren't they?
ReplyDeleteNot only did they get inside my 'squirrel- proof' feeder, BUT they chewed the plastic away rendering in useless. It now resides at the local landfill.

ReplyDeleteYes, but can he get back out?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Perhaps you ought to send this photo to the company you bought the feeder from. It would be interesting to hear their response. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere appears to be no such thing as "squirrel proof". He does look trapped.
ReplyDeletehahahaha What a terrific 'capture' !
ReplyDeleteHysterical! They are little demons!
ReplyDeleteI think the word, "squirrelproof" should not exsist. I have learned that nothing is Squirrel Proof.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Kathleen
