I won a gift from AFRICA!!!!!

A few weeks ago, lovely Lynda from Tanzania, Africa had a give away. I submitted my name for it and WON. I won an awesome gift consisting of some ginger tea ( I LOVE tea) and an African CD, plus Lynda wrote me a sweet note on a postcard.

You HAVE to check out Lynda's blog. She lives on a Bazillion acres farm in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro with 2 lovely children and her husband. Her home is gorgeous and they survive without regular electricity. (They do have generators, though.)

Food, Fun and Farmlife....in East Africa is the official name of her blog. Check it out. Life in Africa is way different from life in Maine in so many ways. But it's also so much the same in other ways.

Thank you, thank you, thank you my friend Lynda.

Check out the stamps it took to mail it to Maine. Do the math.
800 X 10 equals 8,000/=  to mail it out.....whatever /= is.
8,000 anything is a LOT!
Thanks!

  1. I am so glad that the parcel arrived safely - enjoy it, and hope that you love the music ! The /= is the symbol for our currency of Tanzanian Shillings - and 8000/= is around $5. I've been a millionairess several times over ;)

  5. Somehow I have a feeling this experience will inspire some sort of artwork. Maybe you'll do some auto-painting while listening to the CD? Congratulations! You will always be a winner in my book. ( - :

  6. What a nice gift.Hope you enjoy the music and the tea. Ginger tea is wonderful to drink during flu and cold season.I drink it when I feel a cold coming on. Soothing for a sore throat. Sometimes we forget that people from all over the world read our blogs. We are all so different yet alike in many ways. I went to her blog and read a few posts. Very interesting.

  8. Congratulations. How exciting! I intend to check out Lynda's blog.
Thanks for your visit and comment recently. The animation by this talented man was the back of a piece of embroidery, offering a much different perspective to the neatly embroidered "stills" leading up to it!
