OK, seriously, went back to the hematologist and all blood counts are back to normal ! It seems that the antibiotic that was given to him about 3 weeks ago for a finger infection caused his white blood cells to bite the dust !!!!!!!!!!! In case you want to know the name of the culprit, it was a drug called Bactrim. The doctor told him never to take it again!!! Doctor's orders.
So, what now? New surgery date: January 5th, 2010.
Here we go again.......
Glad to hear he's not "Abby Normal" any longer. Have a wonderful holiday and we'll be looking in on you...
ReplyDeleteDang, Teri stole my abby normal line...lol. Glad to hear things are back on track.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Igor, let's scrub up. This is great news. The holidays should hasten the waiting time a bit. And then it's time to head for the O.R. Does Mrdowneastdoingstuff get any say in the surgical soundtrack on the 5th?
ReplyDeleteEl, it's time for a little singing...
ReplyDeletehit it...
haaaal le lu jah
haaaal le lu jah
hal le lu jah!!!
Hooray - hooray!!! Is he going back to work until then - or is he taking the time off anyway? Glad that the culprit was discovered and the count is back up.
ReplyDeleteDoctor's orders: stay away from sick people, large crowds, strange people(there go all my friends), WORK(yes!), the woodpile and snowblower(ya, right... just joking)and Bactrin?. Do continue to sample holiday beverages, watch bowl games, talk 'hot stove' with Red Sox fans, continue to interview nurses working the CICU floor at MMC! Whew! That's a lot of pressure so close to Christmas! I'll do my best.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of a funny thing to say...after the above comments.
ReplyDeleteJust enjoy the holidays and remember on the 6th and after surgery...
"The doctor said he would have you on your feet in two weeks."
"And will he?"
"Yes, You'll have to sell the car to pay the bill."
Sending good wishes your way.
