Birds are winged, bipedal, warm-blooded, vertebrate animals that lay eggs. There are around 10,000 living species.
9,999 of them live at my house.
And why not? It’s home sweet home around here for our fair feathered friends, thanks to Mr. Downeastdoingstuff.
Take a glimpse of the structures he provides for them...yes....all out in my yard. sigh.
(just scroll quickly to get a sense of how many there are...)
And, yes, birds do actually nest in most of them
We have happy cats.
NOW, you have to watch this sweet, sweet animated Pixar short....“Fish got to swim, birds got to fly, I got to love one man till i die. Can’t help lovin’ dat man of mine.”
Oscar Hammerstein II from ‘Showboat’.
(Wonder why he’s got a blog where he’s called Birdman?)

Wow! You sure have a lot of bird feeders and I LOVED that video! Too cute.:) I see why he is called the birdman! My favorite birdhouse is the purple roofed one...my color.:)
ReplyDeleteOh my word now that is a LOT of birds. I LOVE all the bird houses, they are just adorable :)
ReplyDeleteThe video is too cute.
Too cute? I certainly am!
ReplyDeleteI just can't believe it..and I thought we had a lot. That video was so cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Elenka, WOW! That's a lot of birdhouses. Phil is a birdwatcher. We have 3 large maple trees in our front yard and I swear 100's of birds live in the trees. Every morning and late afternoon we are greeted with various chirpping. I think some times they have turf wars going on. The limbs start shaking and the chirps get louder. Lot's of action going on in the trees. The video was so cute and reminded me of the turf wars.

Well, no wonder all the birds hang out there...it's like a bird condo-city. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful selection of bird boxes... well done to the Birdman... I have bird feeders and bird baths everywhere, I really must get some nest boxes too... mind you they seem to be nesting in any crack or crevice they can find under the tiles on our roof! I don't mind the Sparrows but hte Starlings are far too noisy!
ReplyDeleteI love that clip, its on the toy story dvd as an extra...
Take care
Alex

ReplyDelete..just found another comment of yours. Are you still experiencing that very hot weather?Your post was fun... like many people, every time I see a large gathering of birds on a wire I think of that famous film...enjoy your weekend with your feathered friends.
ReplyDeleteThose are great bird houses! We love birds around here too.
ReplyDeletethat's pretty funny...now I'm off to check out your Birdman... I just one fair sized birdhouse to cover the 'lectrical stuff for my new little fountain... with no open hole for the birdies to even think about nesting in it!
