Can we eliminate MARCH ?

WATCH OUT ! Here it comes...the ugly month.
Now, it may not be ugly where you live, but here in Maine it's hideous. You start to see it along the side of the roads. That's the worst.
We're starting to have temperatures hovering around 32.7 ยบ for about 5 minutes everyday, which is starting the BIG MELT. All the nice looking snow disintegrates, exposing the crap underneath.

The crap is black and ugly; the antithesis of what snow should be. And it'll be here all of March and even into April. Oh yes, we will get more snow-maybe lots of it-but it'll start to melt again rather quickly and expose the dark underbelly, the sewer of the snow world, the crap.

But not to worry. After the snow is almost gone, we have THIS to look forward to...

 MUD  SEASON !!

In the words of Rosanne Rosannadanna:

HAPPY  MARCH :-(

  1. It can be an ugly season, but it is also a hopeful one. I hope that it doesn't snow, I hope that it doesn't rain, I hope that tomorrow is warm, I hope that my plants survived and on and on.

  3. Oh my - I'm so glad we don't have mud season out here in the PNW - rain is plenty to deal with. And our snow melts rather quickly so we don't see the underside. It rained all night, quite heavily, and the snow is now completely gone and we hope not to see anymore this year (we had hoped not to see any in March but you see how well that worked out).

  4. We are lucky here in TN as most of our snow melts the same day it falls. Rarely does it stay around long enough to see the ugly mush.

March is half over and we have had the extreme temps from 20's to 80's. I prefer the later of the two and look forward to warm sunny days.

    Have a happy day

  5. You have truly created the ultimate tribute to this messy tween season. We, too, are watching the pristine snow vanish, revealing the dirty underbelly of winter. And mud season is already in full gear on certain roads here in Vermont. Try to keep your wonderful sense of humor. Spring IS coming!

  6. LOL! I really enjoyed this post, since snow is nature's vacumn cleaner it is little wonder that when it melts we have all that yucky dirt and, yes, crap!

We have had sunshine the last few days, the grass is brown .. but hey it is better than snow.

  7. Eliminate March....What are you crazy! 5 Birthdays gone (that includes mine), No Ides of March, No St Patrick's Day, No Spring arrival, No March Madness. You need to re-think this one.

  8. Ha ha ha ha ha....OK Marchin, you have a point....I think.
(That's about as much thinkin' I'm gonna do about this one.)
Don't worry...there will come a day when you won't WANT your birthday to come. Trust me.
    Happy St. Pat's Day, bro.

  10. You're killin' me! This is exactly what MARCH in MICHIGAN is like! HORRID! I loved your photos, did you take them all as evidence of the horridness so we'd believe you!? Yes, you're good, a true sleuth!
Uncovering crap .... someone's got to do it. The rest of us just complain and Elenka's out there with the camera doin' her JOB!
    XOXO
